Here’s what you can do:

  • Follow the 60/60 rule: Listen to music at no more than 60% of the maximum volume for no longer than 60 minutes at a time.
  • Give your ears a break by spending a few minutes in a quiet environment after using headphones or being in a noisy place.
  • If you’re around loud machinery, generators, or power tools, wear proper hearing protection.
